What exactly is a phage?
Well, in the Sailor Stars anime when a member of the Sailor Animamates steals a star seed from a normal person, that star seed turns black. The person who is no longer with their "light" gets surrounded by vines and turns into an evil being called a phage. To put it another way, they are basically the "monsters of the day" for Sailor Stars, who happen to have the habit of saying "beautiful" when they are healed by Eternal Sailormoon.
